GUIDE TO CROOKDALE BECK NAME OF RIVER: Crookdale Beck. WHERE IS IT?: It's a tributary of Borrow Beck. PUT-INS/ TAKE-OUTS: See the directions for Borrow Beck. It's at the get-in for that river. APPROX LENGTH: Unknown. TIME NEEDED: Unknown. ACCESS HASSLES: Unknown. WATER LEVEL INDICATORS: This is definitely a spate run! GRADING: Grade 3/ 4. MAJOR HAZARDS/ FALLS: Unknown. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Very narrow with 5 or 6 grade 3/ 4 drops. One being a perfect place to back loop! Simon Wiles adds...'Didn't run it, Looks tight steep and narrow. You'd get on from the A6 at about GR 554045 or slightly higher for a warm up, and nip across the fields down hill to get to the river. Take out at the end of Borrow Beck. Needs loads of water, was probably a bit boney when we went back for our car, but would be a good start to Borrow Beck.' OTHER NOTES: You'd only do this as an addition to Borrow Beck.
