Tyne area kayak fishing

Post by rdavies626 » Tue Aug 21, 2012 1:41 pm

Does anyone have any experience of sea fishing off the north east coast, mainly around the tyne up to blyth area?

I am considering buying a sea kayak and would like to know if there are any good fishing marks around this area that I could safely reach on a sea kayak.

Your thoughts and advice would be a big help

I boat fish and kayak around there but rarely put the two together now. There are quite a few people who do though, have look at http://www.nesa.co.uk/forums/
Inshore of the yellow can at St Mary’s or some of the wrecks close to Blyth beach are popular places to try. This season has been poor, unless you like mackerel and whiting.

Good luck.

Just taken a look at North Tyne. I'd say the level is medium lowish. Good for paddling but not all that exciting.

I plan to fish off some of the quieter beaches in the northeast. Mainly to get used to my arriving pescadore 12. As for marks I'm never sure where is best If you want you can message me and we can discuss .
