The biggest change is at Serpents Tail, which at medium levels now is considerably more difficult (around 6-9 on gauge at Mile End Mill, or 0.65 to 0.85 on EA gauge). The bottom drop is bigger, pushier and a little stickier... We recommend scouting. (Otherwise to be read as "Woo - new boof drop on the Dee!")

Also worth noting: the following broken weir rapid, by the motor museum, has a bit more broken off concrete on the left side which has eaten at least one boat. There's also some broken off walling on the very left of chainbridge rapid, but that's more obvious and easy to avoid. At town falls, the Cornmill has scaffolding on which is worth looking out for in higher water.

The play waves at Mile End Mill have also altered slightly so playboaters might need to recalibrate...

Plenty of fun out there, just a few places to keep an eye on, especially with a mixed ability group... Happy paddling!

Horseshoe Falls access: the tenant of the field at the Llantysilio access point has politely requested that paddlers carry their boats down the hill to the river, rather than dragging or tobogganing, to avoid destroying the grass which he rents for grazing. This is the least we can do to continue to earn our welcome on this precious river - so please spread the word!
