(although I suspect Lowri's comment about 8m tides regards the tidal range at Liverpool, which would be a larger range than those seen at Holyhead)

Update on parking. We arrived to find the ats garage closed down and advertised for sale and parked outside making sure not to obstruct the entrance or the sign on the other side of the wall. I asked a local guy walking his dog if he thought it would cause any offence. He told me he thought it should be fine as we weren't obstructing anything and that there will be a new garage opening there, he got permission from the old garage to park just inside the compound and suggested I should try asking them myself when they open the new garage.
