If I can remember correctly I think it is 20 although I could have missed one or two

Fibreglass Comanche
Fibreglass Snipe (very briefly)
Perception Mirage (mainly for my sister to use, now is at a friends house with flowers planted in it)
Perception Whiplash
Pyranha Prozone
Perception Lucid
Necky Vibe
Eskimo Salto x 2 (I am now on my second of these after breaking one in an off the water incedent)
Riot Booster (I only paddled this once before selling it on)
Pyranha Seven-0
Bliss Stick Super Rad (still my current playboat)
Downtime Hellbender (leaks like a sieve but I still own and patch it up)
Mega Jester Cyclone (still owned and used despite a delaminating problem)
Mega Neutron
Mega 07 Reflex (still my main surf boat)
Arrowcraft Surfyak (still owned)
Random old surf shoe (still owned)
Random old polo boat (given away to a friend)
Random old touring boat (given to a local club)

I am currently looking to replace my playboat and my IC surf boat so should be two higher in the not too distant future.

Surprisingly difficult to remember, must be getting old!

I had to break it down into disciplines to help za little grey cells:

Race K1s – 9
WWR K1s – 2
Race K2s – 3
Slalom K1s – 3
Slalom C2 – 1
OC – 2
Plastic Kayaks – 10

Total = 30, that’s 1 for each year of paddling.

Edit: realised I'd forgotten a slalom boat, so total should be 31.

Gap of 20 years

Perception Arc (least paddled, hated the thing!)

So 11 - not bad since I'm only just under 2 years in returning to the sport!

7 in about 4 years...

Necky Witch - great first boat, sold to a kid in a club here who I still see paddling it every so often.
Jackson 2fun - sold to a girl in Dublin, last I saw of it I pulled it out of a river in Kerry last Christmas. Clearly it's new owner doesn't love it much.
Jackson Star - sold first to a guy near here, then I saw it up for sale again a few months ago and lost track.
LL Trigger - sold to a club, still paddled there and I meet it on rivers every so often.
Jackson Hero - again the last I heard of this one was someone ringing me (my number still inside) saying they'd pulled it out of a river a few months after I sold it.
and then my current two: WS Project 45, and WS Diesel 65. I have the project almost two years now - a new record for me!

Project 62
Burn M

Thanks to my parents have the use of many other kayaks and opens, not to mention all the demos over the users. Its funny, quite a feeling of nostalgia from boats such as the magic bat and RPM, first tail squirt and tree encounters etc.

I reckon the answer is 10, of which I still own 8.

Not into this disposable boat culture. My first ever boat I part exed for the second boat, which was written off in a trailer accident and replaced like for like, so I have only ever had one boat I felt I needed to replace, the others all complement each other.

I think I got my first boat 16 years ago. Some of my current fleet are more than 16 years old though.

Do you still have the Corsica?

Perception Mr Clean
Dagger Vertigo
Perception Amp

Perception Full Tilt
Liquid Logic Space Cadet
Liquid Logic Hoss
Prijon Embudo - Technically the wife's but I bought it!
Liquid Logic CR250

Think that is all of them so that makes 14.

Fibreglass Commanche
Fibreglass battleship (can't remember the name of the darn thing but you could have landed a helicopter on it)
Fibreglass Starmaker (slalom boat)
Fibreglass Slalom boat (make unknown - bought second hand)
Fibreglass K1 (make unknown - bought second hand)
Mountain Bat
Dagger AqII
Felix Volta (polo boat)
Dagger Gradient

Every boat on the list has been sold to other paddlers. Sold the Volta 2 weeks ago leaving me temporarily boat less, but have access to boats to borrow for the moment and spent the money on a new bow and arrows (another hobby which I get far less grief over as my daughter shoots too).

Leaves me the excuse to buy something new to surf in next year once I've saved the pennies!

10 boats in the best part of 30 years paddling isn't too bad...
Old School?? I miss my AQII..

Some of the posts jogged a few memories, so I re-counted, including shared doubles. It's worse than I thought!

1. Olymp IV - my first ever kayak.
2. second Olymp IV
3. Victoria 17 - my first ever canoe.
4. Nordkapp HM (re-modified!)
5. Universal
6. unknown WWR
7. Interceptor WWR - my 'commuting' boat.
8. 'Granta' Kit-built wooden canoe
9. Dart
10 Lancer
11. Barracuda - wrecked on an ill-advised attempt to surf it.
12. Tasman - survived the Exe descent (just), but never the same afterwards.
13, Makker - a lovely boat but no-one would paddle it with me!
14. Reynard Cruiser
15. Icefloe - stolen from a friend's garden in Llanelli
16. Kirkes 21
17. Discovery
18. Blenheim
19. Dancer
20. Spirit
21. Ultramax
22. Gyramax
23. Synchron
24. Puma
25. Taifun
26. T-Canyon
27. Pathfinder
28. Cascade
29. Autumn Mist
30. Summersong
31. Aleut II
32. Madness
33. Nordkapp Jubilee
34. Aurora

53 that I can recall. Their could be a few more?

Quite sad when you consider that I've only been paddling for about 9 years.

Hurricane (back end split on Roy, but still floats)
Slalom C2 (didn't get much use, so sold on)
3 or 4 polo boats (mostly deceased)
Jive (left on weir above Wolf's Gorge)
Perception 3D (bought & lived in Chile for 5 years, now here)
G ride 6.2 (again killed by the Roy, it's also done for a pair of salopettes!)
