Leck Beck Barbed Wire

Post by Jonny Briggs » Sun Aug 10, 2008 6:58 pm

There is two new looking pieces of barbed wire running across the beck just above a large log jam, (quiet low down the beck) In medium water they could be sneaked under but in higher flows ther're the right hieght to go some damage.

Think its the same barb wire that I rolled under at the last second. My mate wasnt so lucky and ripped his dry suit. Is it like someone has fenced off their section of river near the bottom? Thats where it was at new year.

What levels did you have? Any pics?

First half of this video is our trip on the beck. Massive levels.

It was a scrape at the bottom, the gorges were good fun though well worth it. Didn't get any pictures as there was only 2 of us, cant wait to do it in higher levels. The Ribble however was awsome, some really good play waves and holes today. At that level I think its a contender for my favorite river.

Its been a funny summer really, got more done than in the winter, did the Doe in stonking levels the other week

Did you run the rest of the doe at that level? The gorge would of been sporty!! Never seem to catch it at the right levels.

No we didn't once again, only 2 of us, and in playboats. It would be very full on at that level, ive seen it so high that the drop below Beezley was washed out. It was scary. Its such a hard one to catch, done all the different bits but never linked them all in one day.
