This is interesting information. They have also kindly provided information on river levels so responsible kayakers & canoeists can choose when to paddle with due environmental responsibility.
Done any NE/NW rivers not on the site? PM me!

The link to the Tyne Access agreement in the South Tyne (Alston to Slaggyford) page is broken.

It should now be

Hi Ken

Anyway I've been out on the Tyne this morning which is at a lovely level and found the following,

Garrigill ford, this has been dug out and syphons with tons of rocks washed on the ford.

Slaggyford; the left arch and half the right are blocked by two straining tree trucks, this is a real serious hazard rather like a Nealy sketch of a classic strainer.

Did this section near end of November: Slaggyford bridge now has no tree. See post in Garrigill to Alston section for a different tree.

Kirkhaugh Bridge (NY697496) has collapsed with trees piled up blocking all of river left and centre. Passable with care on river right at decent water levels but probable portage at low water. A complete mess!!
