Re: RIVER TEES (The Barrage)
Barrage also open through March at the discounted rate. I was pleasantly surprised to find it was only £5 for adults or £3 for students/juniors.
There was some discussion about the redevelopment here. Does anyone know whether they've come up with a start date for the work yet?
For anyone who doesn't know the redevelopment will see a new short harder course alongside a longer, easier one. The existing bits of the course will be deepened. Archimedes screws will be used to generate electricity and pump water allowing for the course to become more independent of tide times. In addition there will be a canoe lift/conveyor belt thing so you won't actually have to get out of your boat!

Tees is running tomorrow from midday till 6pm. Do you know what the tide is doing suring that time and what that means for the quality of the features on the course?

Re: RIVER TEES (The Barrage)
Latest rumour is that the course will remain open through to October. Every time I hear about this it seems to get put back another month. Does anyone know what's been causing the hold up?

Re: Teesside White Water Course Update
Un-fortunatly we are still waiting on builders to arrive.
We will continue to provide updates as we receive the information.
In reguards to the pictures, we are hoping to get a section on the Tees Active website we can provide both pictures and updates. The current website can be found at www.TeesActive.co.uk.
I would wish you all happy paddling but judging by the 4" thick ice in our warm up lake i doubt there will be much happening.
Tez.

Re: RIVER TEES (The Barrage)
I had a quick look when passing at the weekend. The concrete outline of the two channels seems to be in place, but the site as a whole still looks miles off! I think I read November was the latest completion target, but that may just be a rumour...

Re: RIVER TEES (The Barrage)
I've had a go at rewriting the guide tonight to reflect the new course - I'm no playboater (unless face-planting now scores?), so can't make a proper informed comment on how playable each feature is - I'm only going on what I've seen others achieve.
If there's anything people think I've got wrong or want to add more detail, please post below.

Re: RIVER TEES (The Barrage)
Hi,
Im currently trying to get all the correct information for our newly re-developed white water centre on lots of different websites -
Please could you change any info on your website to our new title of ‘Tees Barrage International White Water Centre’ -not course or Teesside.
Also could you please include a like to our new website – http://www.tbiwwc.com
Please also be aware that Castlegate Quay Water Sports no longer exists and is now part of the TBIWWC.
Please also ensure you have the correct address for us which is:-
Tees Barrage International White Water Centre
Tees Barrage Way,
Tees Barrage,
Stockton-on-Tees
TS18 2QW
Phone: 01642 678000
For further details on the detail of that course etc, please can you contact the centre directly at enquiries@tbiwwc.com - they should be able to help you with course features, play-a-bility etc.
Thanks
Rachel

When do you expect the short course and conveyor belt to re-open?

Apparently, everything's working again.
Has anyone got any good photos they wouldn't mind appearing on UKRGB? We need some up-to-date ones for the guide. Please post them below.

Hey everyone,
Does the white water course get really busy at weekends? Its just that when Holme Pierepoint reopened, it was so busy for the next two months. I'm curious about the course but can't be bothered to queue at every eddy...
Cheers!

Re: RIVER TEES (Tees Barrage International White Water Centr
A few photos from last weekend when the RNLI were doing their flood rescue training... and ironically flooded the barage, completely submerging the motor for the conveyor belt - which i think is now broken - and completely flooding out the short course

Re: Tees Barrage International White Water Centre
Hello Paddlers
Is there an issue with water quality at the barrage since it has been upgraded? Prior to the upgrade our club never had a problem. Since the upgrade we have had half a dozen cases of diehoria-hi-ho-hay both on the course and on the lake above the barrage. Too much goose-poo?
