Paddled the Churnett today from the black Lion at Consall to Froghall at c0.4-0.6 on the gauge at Basford bridge. There are several large trees down across the river forming large river wide strainers. Today these just meant brief portages but at higher levels would be more of a concern.

In terms of the river level I would suggest it would need to be at least 0.55 at Basford bridge I have run it lower at 0.45 and it was a bit of a scrape but doable I have only paddled the section from the black lion at Consal and back along the canal. The canal shoot is great fun as the weir by the pub isn’t doable.
