We did this today and as the guide says - its full of trees. We portaged about ten trees. Compared to two in August! It was hard work and the trees seemed to be in the most inconvienant places! This made for some hard portaging. If people are going to do this then allow 3hrs and be very switched on. Some are in very dangerous places. Have fun.

We paddled the upper dart+loop combo today. Looked at the webburn but its definitely a no go for all but tree huggers now. There is a river wide tree just above the bridge at the confluence of the dart. In high water levels it could be paddled over on river left, but i'de play it safe and stay away.

That tree has been there for several weeks now and can be paddled under on river right at lower levels without too much difficulty.

Really wouldn't risk it at high water - looked at it the other week when the Dart was on the bottom step at Newbridge and the Webburn was only just clearing the tree...

The large tree just above the bridge near the confluence with the Dart has been removed and there has been a certain amount of gardening done in the 400 metres above this.

We paddled the river on Saturday (Dart 6 inches above slab), and Sunday (2inches above slab) by walking and carrying boats up river from the Dart confluence.

Starting where the path starts go go uphill, this makes an interesting if rather short run, very fast, few small eddies, but no tree problems. This is not unlike some of the sections on the East Dart.
