Great pic of the sea eagle. Has someone just blown a hole through it with a shotgun, or is it wearing a blue tag? Presumably it is one of the Rum birds?

The sunburst over Eigg is nice too...

Hi Cameron,

looks like you were in the Arisaig area - we chatted to a couple of blokes from Cumbria paddling Rockpools in the Arisaig skerries last Sunday - was that you? (my partner and I were in plastic yellow and red NZ boats with rudders).

Fantastic photos by the way! Great white-tailed sea eagle!!!!

Yes Lucy that was us, I was paddling the blue Rockpool, nice to meet and chat to you.
The sea eagle was one of a pair that we saw down by Moidart and carries a blue wing tag with a V on it. Its partner took off from the mainland, flew down and landed on the skerry which then drew our attention to the second bird (V), the larger of the two. It was a great thrill to see them and I managed to take the photograph without disturbing them.

Ooh, lovely stuff Cameron.

I'm heading north myself tomorrow; I'll have some more of that sort of weather please.

Andrea.

Is that a Visitors pass, or a VIP pass?

The sea eagle with the blue V tag might have been born in 2002 - that's the tag colour that was used then according to the Mull Birds website and they definitely had a V.

Great photos.

V-reg bird. The shame of it.
