River Avon (Stratford-on-Avon) Pollution

Post by RiverTourerMidlands »

Hi,

Just to let other water users aware I've been ill for a few days after kayaking on the River Avon from the old Bathing place up to Aleveston Weir and down to Welford-on-avon. Has anyone else had issues along this stretch with sewage or poor water quality?

Probably the local works discharging raw sewerage (as they are allowed to do when it rains heavily and they can't cope with the volume...)

Unfortunately across England and Wales happens way too often even when the rain is not that heavy.
