Falls of Balgy

Post by Neptune »

Has anyone run the Balgy and the Falls of Balgy out of Loch Damh on the west coast in Torriden?

Given that it is only a couple hundred metres from an A-road and looks fairly runnable, I'd be surprised if it hasnt.
Its also got a short track to the put in and you can paddle out to the loch, to run the whole river.

Is it not in the new guidebook?

It's in the second edition, says it's runnable even though the last hole looks sticky.

We were supposed to be staying near there in early May but it got cancelled due to Covid-19. Planning to be up there in the autum instead so I will have a look in the 2nd edition when I get home this evening and put it on the 'to do' list along with the Kirkaig and two or three others I have on it for when we are up there.

I can combine the day out with climbing Ben Sheildaig, so it should make a nice day of activity.
