River Avon- Bath to Bristol

Post by shazalee »

Do any of you know how fast the river is in between Bath and Bristol during the summer?
How much quicker will I be going downstream than upstream?

It's pretty much canalised, so perfectly feasible to paddle upstream (provided it's not in flood), but will still take a bit longer than going down (rest depends on your fitness & what boat you're paddling)

The paddle from Bath (Pultney Bridge) to Bathhampton, stopping at the Mill pub for lunch and back is quite pleasant.
Old School?? I miss my AQII..
