Your course provider, Andrew Barras is 5* whitewater, 5* sea kayaker, Level 2 coach with Moderate Water Endorsement in both those disciplines, a registered paramedic and professional first aid instructor.

Maximum of 8 clients
Prerequisite: Minimum age of 16. No previous First Aid quals needed.
Cost: £80 includes certification fees and first aid manual.
Validation lasts for 3 year

Roles and responsibilities of a first-aider;
Assessing an incident;
Unconscious casualties (including airway management for paddlers in kit);
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (including mannequins dressed in buoyancy aid and helmet);
Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator;
Medical emergencies (Heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes, seizures,)
Trauma (including chest injuries, head injuries, concussion, wounds and bleeding, minor injuries, burns and scalds);
Environmental (Hypothermia and Hyperthermia)
