Race 1 at 1030 is a 4k classic time trial, then at 1330 at brilliant 7.5k mass start from the car park at Callander to the end of Torrie rapid
A perfect racing/training day
All SCA/BC/WCA etc members welcome to race
Entry fee £10 for both races or £6 for one (£6 and £4 for jnrs)
Both races finish at the marked (from the river) takeout beside the large layby on the A84 just upstream of Drumvaich. Take care crossing the main road.
All types of white water boats welcome (creek boats, play boats, canoes with floatation etc.), but if the river is high it may be necessary to restrict juniors and/or less experienced paddlers, if it is really high the race may be postponed to another date.
As usual with WWR, no safety cover will be provided, racers need to be confident to look after themselves in the conditions on the day, it is permitted to complete races if you self rescue but not if you require outside assistance.
Most experienced racers will have trained when the river occupies half of the car park at the put in, but that doesn't necessarily mean the risk is acceptable for race organisation at such levels.
For updated information with respect to how the river level may affect whether the race goes ahead or not check the facebook page:
