Kuiu - Woohoo!

Post by mcgruff » Wed Sep 11, 2019 9:19 pm

Just discovered Kuiu ("kooyoo") outdoors gear, in particular their modular rucsac system:

The rucsacs are designed to carry very heavy loads and, by all accounts, do that very comfortably.

What's really interesting is that the modular system can be taken apart and the pieces should fit inside a kayak hatch (not entirely sure of the dimensions of the carbon fibre frame but it doesn't look too bad).

I've got a trip planned for the future where a proper load-carrying rucsac which can be stowed in a kayak could be very useful: portages, walking miles into town to resupply, foraging for bothy firewood... I'd more or less resigned myself to having to make one without really knowing how.

Of course there's a drawback. You'll have to sell a kidney to pay for one.
