Hi folks, can I pick your brains please??
I am 67 but still mega fit and active though I do have an artificial left leg below the knee and a replacement right knee neither of which slows me down much. The issue I have is my reduced knee bend and balance which obviously hampers me getting in and out of my kayak and portaging.
I currently paddle an old Perception Kiwi which weighs 20kgs and I only paddle slow water (not into white water) but I want something newer, lighter and with a good size cockpit length now. The choices looking online are overwhelming now so I wondered what you might recommend from your own experiences that might be suitable for me. BTW I am 6 foot tall and 80kgs.
Thanks lots. Bob.

Why not look at a stable K1 such as a Kirton Tempest or Marsport Hobby? If you aren’t doing whitewater and are sticking to flat water these are light, stable and zoom along really fast. Great for fitness paddling and fast touring. Large cockpits too. Even for cheapest construction less than half of the weight of your Kiwi!!
