Bulgaria for our summer trip?
In exactly the same vein as Dave's other request for information, does anyone have any information about paddling in Bulgaria? To confirm that I've done at least the basic investigation, I found some (very old) threads:

We are a bunch of paddlers who are used to trying unusual places, with most happy on grade 3 - 4, and some keen for some grade 5 also.
We have an old guidebook from 1995, in German, which gives a bit of information, but my school-boy German isn't properly up to translating it.
It looks like the Struma has rafting and kayaking trips all through the summer, but may be a bit too trivial for us (there are videos on YouTube of rubber duckies in the sun).
Some of its tributaries look more interesting: Gradevska Reka, Bistrica Blagoevgradska, Rilska Reka.
Other possibilities may be the Arda, Cerna Reka, Tshepelarska Reka / Jugovska Reka, Mesta (in Greece).
Information about the best time of year would be very helpful.
Many thanks for any info - Conor

Probably not as he joined the forum nearly 17 years ago.

Following that line, they could end on the Orinoco. Not much white water in Tobermory, but quite a lot of a different sort in Alderney.

Surely you could have included Wellington, he was always my favourite!Chris Bolton wrote: ↑Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:56 pmFollowing that line, they could end on the Orinoco. Not much white water in Tobermory, but quite a lot of a different sort in Alderney.

I very nearly moved to Wellington for the proximity for paddling, so of course.
Wasn't there a Yellowstone one? Or am I getting confused with Yogi?

If we end up on the Orinoco, then we're definitely lost.

Au contraire..... there is a little grade 4 spate creek with a couple of interesting falls that comes out right into the harbour :)
