Kayak Related Questionnaire

Post by RBainbridge » Wed Oct 31, 2018 1:36 pm

Hello, I am a final year BSc (Hons) Product Design student currently studying at the University of Huddersfield. I am conducting research to help me identify key problems related to kayaking.
If you could spend a few moments to complete the questionnaire at the link below this would be greatly appreciated and benefit my project.

Some very open questions, you may not get the kind of answers you were hoping for.
it's not a playboat, it's a river runner

Agreed!
Canoeing - bigger boat, broken paddle, more skill!

Yes there are.

I've found a lot of similarities within peoples answers even on the open ended questions.

Having them as open as they are lets me see the full scope of answers, rather than generated replies that I have offered. It may take longer to go through results and find recurring issues, but allows specific responses that may be missed under questions where I could have provided options for you to choose.

Thank you for the feedback though.

Just proves you have thought the questionnaire through .... How I hate those responses on the drop down menu where the response I would give is "None of the above" but it is not there and you need to answer to move on the next question. So guess what - I just close the questionnaire down.

That's exactly what I didn't want to do!

It is more insightful for me to have open honest responses than closed responses.

Appreciate the comments.

I suspect I must be one of the few whose answers were not similar then!

I have to admit I thought the question about the prescribed safety equipment was too vague and too closed, but on reflection the times I don't wear a bouyancy aid are within BC guidelines so I probably do always take/wear the prescribed equipment, noting that what is prescribed varies dramatically over the range of my paddling...
