Perranporth SOT

Post by andycon » Sun Aug 12, 2018 8:02 pm

Hi, Usually sea kayak but taking a tandem sit on top on holiday with kids to Perranporth. Looking for recommendations for launch site. I have done search on the forum and RNLI site. Perranporth looks better for surfing rather than launching sit on top.
Thanks

I'm not aware of any launch sites in the vicinity other than the beach. However, at this time of year, you've got a good chance of small surf which would be easy to get past - it's a forgiving sandy beach and you've got lifeguards on duty. I was there a couple of weeks ago and the only difficulty with launching there is that the walk from the beach car-park to the water is very long when the tide's not in. I was just carrying my little river running boat, so you will have your work cut out for you with a tandem sit-on-top! Make sure your kids have had their Ready Brek that morning...
