Spraydeck question

Post by G7AFM » Fri Aug 10, 2018 6:55 pm

Using a palm enduro spraydeck only worn about a dozen times, after doing a couple of practice high braces & getting the deck pretty well immersed can feel water coming through on one side only is this the norm for most decks or possibly a faulty one.
Before any one suggests i have checked the edges of the deck & any other possible places for water to get in.
cheers Phil.

Not normal. If it's only on one side, it can't be normal, because then it would be both sides! If there are no obvious faults in the spraydeck (including the join to the body-tube) then I would look at possible faults where the cockpit rim is fixed to the kayak. To test, fit the deck, lay the boat on edge (ideally on something soft) and use a hosepipe to fill the cockpit up to the centreline.
