Campsite in Teesdale

Post by YorkieDave » Mon May 14, 2018 11:55 pm

Does anybody know of a paddler friendly campsite in Teesdale that is good for groups and allows open fires. Following on from our usual yearly event we are looking to relocate to a more paddler friendly campsite.

No not fallen out with anyone but their attitude towards paddlers has become somewhat negative. They do not want anybody accessing the river there for an onwards journey.

There used to be a slalom at the campsite down stream from Middleton, can't remember the name though.

I managed to launch from there and paddle down last year around this time, they made a huge fuss, called the landowner downstream to get "permission" fish blah blah...

Went to paddle a few weeks back, no paddling theybare shooting rabbits! So got out at tanfield bridge.

In future I'm just going to start at tanfield bridge and paddle to ripon.
