This year the river has taken a bit of a kicking and there are several trees down. Fortunately most have nice eddies above them, allowing easy enough manoeuvre or portage options but the most recent is certainly a concern and, as of yesterday (Monday 7th Dec 2015), it is a very nearly a full span across the river 50-100m below Uig Hall bridge (Grid Ref NS 142 849).
The last vaguely sensible eddy above it is not huge and a little flushy. It's simple enough to get out at the weir or bridge and wander down for a look... probably advisable for the next wee while?
The options are there, but it would be very easy to put yersel' in a bad place even in in average conditions.
