I'm about to replace my dry suit and have probably narrowed my choices down to the Typhoon SK multi sport or the NRS Navigator Pro. I want something I can unzip solo and that is hard wearing, preferably glideskin seals, at least for the neck. The Typhoon is a good buy at the moment if you can find your size in stock but I like the look of the NRS.
I noticed that the size chart for the NRS seems a bit unusual - I'm normally on the border of medium/small for kit depending on the make. I'm 5'10", 11 stone, 40" chest and 32" waist. To get an NRS that fits up to 5'10" the chart suggests a large - but the waist and chest sizes seem quite disproportionate to the height.
Has anyone any feedback please on how the NRS fits in practice or about either suit generally?
Thanks.
NRS Navigator dry suit sizes and any opinions please?

Hi Mark
I have a Typhoon drysuit with storm collar and hood. It has glideskin neck seal and latex wrist seals which I spray with silicon after most paddles which helps geting out and in. I can't find a label for size but I'm 5'11 and around 10 st 32" waist and I think 38 chest whatever I bought was suitable and roomy enough for a few layers.
The ttrouble is these sizing charts are all tricky and once one has bought a suit details are swiftly forgotten and styles change.
I might have bought a navigator at a decent price but as always it was in a niche size.
I don't need assistance zipping up.
I'm an average paddler and have used it for some rescue practice and winter paddles.

Thanks Chris - I've decided on the Typhoon. I've previously had a typhoon wetsuit and which was good and I've seen the SK dry suit and been impressed. It also helps that it's less than half the list price of the NRS. If I wanted a small they are even less at the moment. I suspect the model is discontinued and the remaining stock is being sold off - but mostly odd sizes.

I really struggled finding the SK in my wife's size SM, got it from a dealer in Ireland eventually. I was worried they would be big in the waist because the sizing seems strange but I went with the height 'LM' , I'm 5'11 3/4, 40in chest, 33in waist. (both of us are at the top end of the sizing height wise) and they're both spot on. I cannot be dealing with contorting to don and doff a back zip. We'll be using them on the water for the first time tomorrow.
Yes It's a SOT but it ain't no bath tub.

How did you both get on Paddy?
I ordered mine on Saturday morning from Wet and Wild and got an email the same afternoon to say it had been dispatched. Now in the hands of the delivery company of course but that's good service from Wet and Wild.
Edit: Just had an another email saying it will be delivered today. That's fast. But I'll be out so rearranged.

I didn't go for a swim but i liked it. I went a bit laurel and hardy trying to put my neoprene boots on and putting my legs in but through the braces. Be mindful of the strip of material in the pee zip and I caught it with the zip and thought I'd buggered it before getting on the water. All seals very comfortable and the fluffy collar adds to the comfort. Only had motorcycle thermals and a t-shirt under and I was warm. The wife who feels the cold had thermals, walking trousers and a hoody underneath 😯. She was warm and happy. It's far more comfy than my palm cag. This is my first experience of a drysuit though so cannot compare it to anything other than a wetsuit.

And my typhoon arrived today. Obviously I haven't had the chance to paddle with it yet but first impressions are very good. My main reason for changing at this point in time was ease of zipping/unzipping solo - that was a breeze with the hinge system.
As a result my Gul Taw which it will replace (and which I would have kept a while longer if my arms were more flexible) is now on the for sale section.
