Despite some questionable weather, we made reasonable progress around the Irish coast this summer...

Re: Galway to Sligo
You managed to do way more and get much better photos compared to our very brief visit to Sligo... (In April 2019, we tried to do an overnight camp on Innishmurray on our way to a symposium in Donegal, but ended up fleeing back to safety like the cowards we are when we got the first taste of Storm Hannah...) Those photos have made my mind up to have another crack at Sligo. I already have a soft spot for the place, as it's where my ancestors came from (thereby earning me an Irish passport) but the paddling, camping and pubs look right up my street.

Re: Galway to Sligo
As Mark said the conditions were challenging and Erris Head was a ebonite no go that day/week. The crossing of Blacksod Bay was a complete slog with the added pressure of making the tidal gate at Belmullet canal.
It was a fantastic trip, but definitely not a holiday.
Moon light get up 3:30AM alarm for dawn launch.
The truth is we just followed the arrows!
