I've got an Aquanaut LV on which the deck elastics/shockcord have got very sloppy - hadn't really noticed as boat not used for 2 years.
Anyone know the diameter of shockcord for the Valley kayaks? Hard to tell from the stringy stuff I've taken off. I'm guessing it will be either 4mm or 5mm. In fact I ordered some 4mm from fleabay, but it looks very thin, I think they sent 3mm by mistake.
Thought I would consult before re-ordering. Advice welcome.
** p.s the decklines are fine, but it might be useful to know what type of line and diameter this should be for future reference.
Places, technique, kayaks, safety, the sea...

I would look for 6mm black with reflective fleck shockcord. 6mm rope can be quite hard to fit through the fittings as it does not pull out thinner, if that makes sense. However any rescuer will thank you for making the effort. You can get rough texture modern rope that is really good for gripping on to with cold hands.
