Post by damppaddler » Mon Jul 02, 2018 1:29 pm

Me and my lad went for a swim last night, artist corner to the start of the slalom course.

About 100m before the start of the slalom a very strong smell of sewage.

It has been reported to the environment agency.

Not sure where the best place to post this is, but paddled the Derwent today and there was a fallen tree that looked fairly recent and I've not seen it before. It was on the right hand right angled bend before the left hand right angled bend before the railway bridge at Matlock Riverside. It was right in the middle of the river, but the water levels were very high. In lower water it may cause an issue. We managed to paddle past in canoes on river right.
