Nant Llech

Post by SimonMW » Mon Feb 12, 2018 11:24 am

Went walking along the Nant Llech the other day to the rather impressive Henrhyd fall. That waterfall was obviously not runnable, but the rest of the river did have some interesting looking drops.

Now, despite it being rather tree infested in places, and the river clearly needing a lot of water, it did look quite runnable in places (ish), yet I can't find any references to anyone actually having run it. Anyone know of any instances?

Ran it years ago from Henrhyddd Falls down, were quite a few portages over the trees but the rapids between were fun, just a lot of trees but does make a change from the middle Tawe, not checked the river above the falls that pool is crazily shallow all over

Interesting to hear. Between the trees the rapids did look like they could be fun, with a few nice drops. Guess the only drawback to it is that it will require a heck of a lot of rain to bring it into condition. I must go and have a look above the falls next time.
