Kayak, bike and person in SWB Transit

Post by Peter Brown » Sat Jul 15, 2017 9:00 pm

Has anyone solved getting a big boat (say Mamba 8.6), mountain bike (ideally wheels on) and single sleeping/sitting platform in a SWB Transit or similar? Also has to take 3 big boats or 3 bikes on day trips. Looking at the numbers it seems the boat has to go in a such an angle that it's in your legroom when sitting on platform. Another option somebody mentioned is putting boat high against roof on bars sticking out from side pillars, avoids the wheel arch and can have nose poking over headrest but not sure if this works.

I have SWB transit small roof and i have taken my bulkhead out. So can get most kayaks in now straight. Including my Medium Machno and a 9R no problem/ Also got a large Nomad in.

So i can get 4 good size boats on the floor and could have a bed platform above if wanted.

Cheers Andy

Remove the Bulkhead would be your only option if you want to get all that in.
