VW Transporters

Postby MikeB » Wed Jan 11, 2017 10:21 am

Anyone got a VW Transporter (T4/5/6 type) with the one piece lift up rear door AND a spoiler? Does the spoiler catch on boats on the roof when the door is up?

If someone with such a rear spoiler could perhaps get me the measurements (height above roof with door up) that would be much appreciated! Also, what racking system are you using? Rails with cradles, or a K/tek or similar? What's your roof? Pop-top or standard?

I appreciate that having a spoiler will make loading from the rear challenging. But it looks nice, and would keep the rear of the van clean(er).

Many thanks - Mike

Not sure if this will work as I'm still getting to grips with a chromebook, but here's a couple of photo's on my Facebook page. I mounted an alloy tube at the top of my bike rack to stop the kayak damaging the paintwork when I'm loading it.. I simply lean the kayak against this then push it up onto the roof bars. Pretty sure you could adapt something similar for a lift up door and spoiler. Mac
