Some additional details to answer some questions:
The assessment runs over the 2 days. There are no evening sessions. Lecturettes are delivered on the river bank/water. There is a written paper but this is sent out prior to the assessment and completed by candidates at their leisure.
The main assessment areas are:
Leadership (on grade 2 white water).
Coaching in the dynamic river environment.
Equipment.
Lecturette (10 mins).
Written paper (done through research prior to the course).
Your personal skills will be assessed in the context of leadership, any rescues you need to do and your coaching demo's.
The whole experience needs to be as stress free as we can make it in order that we can find out what you can do. All details of the standard of the group you will lead, the river trips we are likely to do and any questions you have are given prior to the course.
Cheers,
Ken
