Other matter's to be confirmed; A full range of Test Boats for demo from some of the UK's leading manufactures hosted by a local retailer, Open Forum Question & Answer Session, chaired by Dave Carroll plus previews of forthcoming new films. Visit G17K News for regular updates

Details about booking the on site accommodation will be available after the 10th Oct. As it appears that G17 may be overseeing all accommodation bookings for the APWE, thus we need to clarify the terms and put in place an administration to over see this process.

The weekend is free!

What river you decide to paddle, its your choice.

New for this season there is no access fee for the Dart's "Loop" section! The Upper Dart has a formal ticket process if you choose to use it, all other rivers on Dartmoor and Exmoor have in my understanding, an open access policy during the closed game fishing season.

So come on down....

Today I had a very productive meeting at the RDCP and AS Watersports. I can confirm that all accommodation administration will be undertaken by the RDCP.

We'll prefer that shared DORM's were booked by groups of friends or clubs, therefore if you are an individual, try to put together a group, post of UKRGB toi make a group.

The new Cafe/bar, is quite a venue now, and we'll have an amazing evening's fun and entertainment in there this year.

Cheers

Looking forward to the weekend.

Simon - are the tshirts the same size as last years ones? If so, can just look at last years label and order that, rather than disect the sizing chart!

I can now confirm that Simon Tapley of Fat Cats Productions will be presenting their latest DVD, "the revenge of the fat cats"

Plus I have recently been sent a DVD from Andy McDoom of his recent California and BC trips for vetting, and this may lead us off for the evening.

Thus at present we have trips from 4 continents :

  • ::Asia with the UNI trips and their Four Borders Exped
::Africa with Deb and her Gabon trip
::Arctic with Simon Tapley and the Fat Cats
::America with Mr McDoom and his West Coast Adventures
Naturally there is highly likely to be an announcement from Mr Gorilla on the Friday afternoon prior to the event regarding a little on the water fun too

See you there

I think a few more rules for this race should be implemented.
For instance: No boats over, say 243cm in length should be allowed. Anyone else in a medium Burn will therefore be disallowed since they probably wouldn't have had the foresight to take a hard river boulder to the front of their boat as I did, thus denting in those crucial centimetres.
Also, no one under the age of, ooh, lets pick a totally random age -- 40 -- should be allowed as its clearly a shocking infringement of the rules. These rules anyway.
Sadly I'd probably still come last.....

Now now Giles, all are welcome for this friends gathering, no restrictions other than the firends need to look after each other.

Hi Simon,

This is good news... I hope to be there with a few friends and to get down to Dartmoor early on the Friday... just got to rearrange a few things before making a booking with rdcp.

Fingers crossed for a really wet week leading up to the event, and a nice top up on Fri and Sat nights whilst sitting in the bar chatting and seeing and listening to the DVD and talks you have lined up.
Adventures on water, mountains & two wheels.

I have just arrived back from Nepal and am enjoying the crisp days of Autumn at the River Dart Country Park. The Accommodation update for the G17 APWE is that there is some Dorm space left, plus bovey rooms in the West Wing.

Please contact the RDCP for booking.

It also appears that rain is due for the week before the event!!

Best Regards

Simon
