Looking for a Solent based kayaking buddy for my return to kayaking after a 30 years break.
Well versed in being at sea having regularly single handed my own 36ft yacht previously.
Was a sailmaker for 6 years and a Cowes marina berthing assistant for my sins!
Basically I understand the ways of tide, time and weather.
Just picked up a kayak today which I'm planning to use for nights away to both Newtown estuary and Scratchells Bay, the Needles. In my 20s I'd thread the needles by swimming so know the area very well, including swimming from the needles to Freshwater Bay, however not any more at 50!
If anyone new to the sport, returning or would be happy to spend a few hours afloat whilst I re hone some skills I'd really appreciate your time.

Check out NFKCC and PDCC who have paddlers that frequent the area.

Are you still looking for kayaking buddies? I only started kayaking this year but have done some sea kayak trips in Algarve and sea kayaking is definitely where my interests lie. I am about 1 hr drive from Solent but happy to travel
