south coast
My paddle partner and I are looking to team up with others for trips. We are based in Eastbourne, East Sussex and presently do day trips along the coast. We have been sea kayaking for a couple of years and are 3* standard. We rarely see any other sea kayakers in this area and our club is ww orientated! If you are interested or know of any local informal groups please let me know..
Re: south coast
I don't know how far you want to travel but Portsmouth Canoe Club are very active sea kayakers with trips every week. The Solent is much more varied than the Sussex coast too with options for most weather conditions too.
Re: south coast
Thanks, good to know. We have paddled the Solent and you're right, definitely more to do and see. We would still like to hear from anyone local too.

Re: south coast
I thought Martlets in Brighton with their clubhouse just back from the beach had a sea kayaking orientation?

That's interesting, thanks. I see they will hold the south east sea kayak symposium in May too.

Hi, I live in Seaford and will be joining the local club to get some training in but I would like to get in the water asap. I did some paddling last year in Cornwall in a wooden shrike. I am on a shoe string, have made my own Greenland stick and hopefully build a skin on frame soon but I should be getting a slalom this week which I will use for playing around in until I sort out a decent touring kayak. I would like to catch up with experienced paddlers who are not averse to the cold weather.
Cheers

Re: south coast
Hi all,
I'm down visiting my folks in Eastbourne in half term 29th May - 2nd June and would was thinking about bringing the boat. I'd quite like to paddle from Cuckmere haven to Eastbourne via Beachy head (obviously!) - arranging a shuttle with my parents/wife. Tides are springs that week, and look good for a mid-late morning start to catch the flood. Would anyone else be around and fancy that as a paddle, weather permitting? Alternatively, I'd be very happy to join someone on a different paddle if they have a better suggestion - very happy to defer to local knowledge.
Many thanks,
Nathan
