Hi all as mentioned in one of my previous posts me and my partner have recently started kayaking I have a pyranha kanali and she has a riber products river runner, we have paddled the river derwent and we would like to do some lessons but are struggling to find anywhere that do them, if we could get paddling with some others with more experience I think it would help we just want to improve our confidence and learn how to roll and paddle better. We live in belper near derby

Thanks

Welcome to the sport!

Canoe England have an online database of affiliated clubs (http://www.canoe-england.org.uk/findaclub.aspx). There are plenty in your area, so I'd advise you to check each of them out, make sure that they cover the disciplines which you're interested in and join up.

Not only will you be safer, but you'll get more enjoyment from paddling with a group. Paddlesport is not without its risks, and you should always make sure that you're adequately prepared in terms of equipment, your skills and the skills of those with you're paddling with.

Have fun,
OSB

i also paddle a karnali. I find it a very predictable and forgiving boat. Very confidence inspiring and handles nicely so dont be afraid of getting stuck in

I find it a great kayak but I can't seem to get the thigh pads to fit right and I have quite a bit of room at the side of my knees think I need to pad it out

Thanks
