Looking for Mal Grey! Re Roros / Femundsmarka

Post by pollypaddling »

Hi community I am looking for Mal Grey and hope he might read this...

We paddled on the same river in 2018 (you may not remember!) the rivers were high and you were shuttling a group of Brits around the Tarn - we are kiwis and our daughter Ada was 3 and not all that convinced about portaging around weirs in the high flow.

We're on our way back to Europe next year and have found a wonderful article about your trip paddling from Sweden to Norway in Roros / Femunsmarka. Ada is much better at portgaging now (age 8-9) and so we are thinking about this as an adventure off the beaten track (before venturing down to the south of France for a more usual family trip with other families).

It would be wonderful to hear from you - or indeed anyone who has ventured up this way - if you see this - my email address is pollypaddling (at) gmail.com

^ This. But perhaps better an email as he's not particularly active on here at the mo.

Is Mal more often found on the "Song of the Paddle" canoe forum?

An email is automatically sent by the forum software to tell the recipient they have a PM, so it doesn't make much difference. Mal has never been very active on UKRGB, but I'm confident he'll respond to any kind of message, unless, of course, he's on a trip and out of contact.

Thanks all, email worked, and messages exchanged on hopefully exciting future trips. I do love the planning stage, and am jealous of Polly's plans. Hopefully will be doing something not dissimilar myself.
