Knowing how much rain is falling will tell you whether rivers are likely to be rising or falling by the time you get there, whereas WTW only tells you what is going on at the time of the last update.

WTW site has good link to rainfall and forecast very accurate alsowww. fishbritain.co.uk river levels click on river gives nearby rivers Scotland and N E England
