The Usk had water yesterday when I went past. I'd be surprised if all of those rivers didn't have water this weekend.

Usk was up yesterday, enjoyed a gentle open boat trip fro Brecon down. Rhondda came up significantly overnight and was at a good level today. Taff is huge.

Given the forecast, I'd d expect that all but the small, flashy rivers will stay up till the weekend.

Lower Tawe, Morriston play spot (wiers) looked good yesterday and its still raining today!

Checked them again 12 pm today and were still looking well playable.

Lots of rain still coming, it's been constant here since about 3pm.

Tawe looked big this morning (lots of water going over the marina barrage at Swansea) but not raining at the moment.

Usk high

Post by Mike J Kelly » Fri Dec 07, 2007 1:50 pm

Usk breached its banks in Abergavenny early this morning - dropped a bit now but still very high.
Rhondda was in flood overnight.
Rained on and off all day today and heavy rain forecast for Sat and Sun.

Get out and enjoy!!

The Sawdde was a 10 on the gauge this morning and there were no trees to worry about in the lower gorge. The Usk rose all day though was still in it's banks at Crickhowell when we finally left the area this evening.

What do people think will be running in South Wales this Monday? I've got an inset day for Christmas shopping but it would be a shame to waste it when there was so much rain.
