Hi,

I've had one for years, used it river kayaking, sea kayaking and winter mountaineering and it has never failed me. The only time i had to get a new one was when my senior instructor left mine on the road and a car ran over it, that was an expensive week for him, bless, i'm now his best man at his wedding next April.

Any how there great and water proff, yes they cost but they can save a hell of lot time in finding you if you pay for the tracker mode and if your plan changes it allows you to let your loved ones know that all is OK.
