Kayak repairs.

Post by Ligan »

Just been reading this months OP bit on repairs, and thought I would post this as it may be of some use. Its called Aqua patch and its a uv curing epoxy prepeg patch that comes in foil bag. To use dry out the area give it a wee sand and stick the patch on and give it good sqeeze into place wait five mins or so for the resin to cure. Job done
I haven't used one on my kayaks in anger yet but I have used one to patch a grp sailing dinghy and its still there. Works a treat and costs £7.50.

Are these only available mail order or in the shops?

I can thoroughly recommend these. I repaired a windsurf board with one of these patches. I always meant to do a proper cosmetic repair but never got round to it. I think this will be the repair's 5th summer!

Hi Neil

Only available mail order, as far as I know. Maybe in some surf shops in Cornwall.
