Good morning everyone,
I am trying to find out some information regarding the original Lochaber canoes built by John Marshall. I know that John Marshall was a boatbuilder in the town of Queensferry, on the River Forth, back in the 1920's and 1930's.
Would anyone have an contact details for any of John's relatives?, or does anyone know if John's original company/workshop/boatyard is still operating?.
If so, please could you let me have the details so that I can send them an e-mail etc.
Many Thanks
Tucker

Hi Tucker
I've copied your post across onto a local facebook group to see if anyone comes up with anything. I'll let you know if it jogs anyones memory.
Any idea which Queensferry? (North or South?)

So much sea - so little time to see it.

Good morning Pathbrae,
Thanks for your message and thanks for posting on the local Facebook page. I did not realise that there were a North and a South. I understand that John's business was on the River Forth at Queensferry.
As I am not familiar with that area, I am unsure whether it is North, or South.
Regards
Tucker

I believe John Marshall's yard was in North Queensferry. There is a mention of it in the Book The Canoe Boy's. There was also a re-creation of the trip described in the book by the BBC where replicas of Lochaber Canoes were created.
