Long thin roof box on Karitec?

Post by on the rocks »

Does anyone use a long thin roof box on their Karitec? A 60cm wide box should still leave room for 2 pairs of j cradles, mounted in the top position so it can be accessed from the opposite side to the one for kayaks offload. I would need to be able to bolt through to square nuts in the Karitec channel

I have not used a roof box on a Karitec rack, but when space in the car was tight we put some of the lighter kayak kit in the kayaks on the roof.

Haven't done so but cant see why it should be an issue for the rack but, depending on what you intend to carry in the box, it will significantly add to the weight you need to lift once you have a couple of boats on there too. Obviously so long as its within the max loading for your vehicle also.
