Alaw Bach and Isel Deck Height

Post by SJD » Fri Apr 12, 2019 8:21 pm

I currently own an Alaw Bach TCC and hoping to pick up a composite version later this year. I love the Alaw Bach but am a little intrigued by the Isel. My concern with the Isel is since it is lower volume I may have a fore deck/knee height problem.

It would be greatly appreciated if someone could provide the deck height of both models measured to the underside of the deck at the forward edge of the cockpit coating.

Thank you

I would phone Mike Webb - he'll be able to give you the full context including the effect of other variables like seat height, knee braces, width at footrest, etc.

I second reaching out to RockPool directly.
I own a Isel and have paddled the Alaw Bach often. Regardless demo both boats. I know a few folks who’s thighs are too big for the Isel. It’s all about fit. If you are in the states Sea Kayak Connecticut, US distributor can help too.

Hi,

I own both boats. Height on the Alaw Bach (composite) is 31cms and on the Isel is 29cms.

Feel free to get in touch if you need any more info.

Rog.
