Who said winter sea kayaking was cold and rough?

This was the Menai Straits on Sunday 24th Feb. Wow what a day we picked to paddle the full 38km of the whole length of the Straits from Penmon to Newborough.

We'd never seen the North Sea quite so calm as it was last Friday:

Good advice my friend - every opportunity should be taken to practice those rescues.
The air temp was 14-15 degC and I was getting very hot in the dry suit. Solution, roll practice, rescue practice or a nice capsize and T rescue. Its amazing how quick you cool down when the sea temp is just 8 degC :-)
