Interesting challenge that! Conditions were just about perfect but they still had problems. Don't think they would have made it in any kind of breeze. Good film though, even if there was no archaeological evidence of the type of craft used.
Saw a documentary ages ago about someone trying to swim across that little stretch of water - he didn't make it!

An excellent hour. Not convinced that they exported their culture. Living on an island seems inherently defensive to me.

It has been done, the lady who organizes the cross Forth swim is one who has.
