Thanks for linking to the video Mike, great to see it again. It's always tough going out through the shore break, I would have liked to see her surfing back in though. The nearest I have been to being sea sick was on Suilven in the big storm of winter '76.

Glad everyone was taken off safely.

Oh no! RIP Suilven - lots of fond memories - I remember the excitement of the big new "steamer" (as my family still called Cal-Mac ferries back then!) when she took over from MV Clansman on the Stornoway crossing, and she showed me my first ever pod of pilot whales. Glad the crew were saved ok even though the ship wasn't. Who'd have thought it - surviving monstrous seas in the Minch and New Zealand, just to sink in a Fiji harbour.
