Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September. Rude not to, and hope a few will be around before and after to explore more possibilities...

Any thoughts on a decent charity? Ideally I don't want the money to go to some Chief Exec's salary...

Charity: we're supporting the belgian chapter of brick children school ( http://www.brickchildrenschool.com/ http://www.brickbybrick.be/ ) which looks like an efficient & transparent organisation.

Still unclear how our renovation project will come along by then so I still have to hope for it...
The event has been put on our club's agenda so I think you can anyway count on some participation from our side of the channel again.

I'm away for most of the summer, so am organising this now...it would be *very* helpful to get a rough idea of numbers, so - if you plan to join us - I'd be very grateful if you could sign up soon. I'm going to be evil and charge any entries received from 1st September onwards at £50 (assuming it's not already full). It's all for a great cause...

Last year's had everything from Worbarrow scenic, Portland Bill rounding, cave and tunnel exploration, beer drinking and participants from all corners inc. Channel Islands. A great location for a jolly good wheeze with a wide range of trips and personality types. I'm in, but don't let that put you off; I'm easily avoided. Worth registering early...

'Temporary structure' wriggles around that issue, though given how bloody long it took to take apart it's debatable... I haven't revisited this civil engineering nightmare since last year. Thanks for the reminder... I'll make sure it's flame retarded for this one :-)

Here's the final joining instructions...you'll be glad to hear that it's the same campsite as last year, only with toilets in the field!

On the Saturday night in the New Inn at Church Knowle, we have a number of short talks/ presentations, which will probably/ possibly/maybe include the following...*Adventures in Greenland* by Jen Clough, a film *Jurassic Sea Kayaking* by Steve Jones (expect lots of action accompanied by jarring 90s dance music), *Fear in Sea Kayaking* by Dr(!) Jon Boakes, something or other by yours truly (*Tory Island* and/ or *The Joys of Guidebook Writing*). If you think you might also have an interesting short presentation (ten slides, 10 mins) to share (anything please, but "first we paddled here, then we paddled there..."), let me know and I'll see if we can slot you in...

If you are planning on eating at the New Inn on Friday or Saturday night, I think they'd be very grateful for a call ahead to book... http://www.newinn-churchknowle.co.uk

It looks likely that the final Saturday night line-up will be something approximating to this...

A film *Jurassic Sea Kayaking* by Steve Jones (expect lots of action accompanied by jarring 90s dance music).

*Fear in Sea Kayaking* by Dr Jon Boakes, a psychologist

*Adventures in Greenland* by Jen Clough - Jen gives us the gossip from her summer holidays

A film from Jim Krawiecki 'Gino's Greenland' - following his fascination with the life of explorer Gino Watkins

And probably two short presentations from me, depending upon time available...

Oileán Thoraí - a guide to Ireland's remotest community
The River Wye (in ten minutes) - a Ronseal title

Looking forward to seeing you all...

This picture by Jan Vyncke - taken inside the shelter of Lulworth Cove, before we even set off! - offers clues as to the conditions on our Saturday afternoon SWSKM paddle.
