Support Ferry to Norway campaign

Post by WillH » Tue Nov 25, 2014 8:07 pm

Updates relating to the proposed reinstatement of the ferry service and the option to register your support here:

http://ferrytonorway.com/

A quick search didn't bring anything up but apologies if this has been posted before.

Cheers
Will

Thanks for the link. It'd be great if this happens. Perhaps Scotland could spend all their new income tax money on ferries for Londoners? (Joking)

I don't think much of their probability calculator. I gave them 60% chance of getting the money together, but a yes for the rest. (If you've got the money I think a timetable should be within abilities.) But that came out at 94% probability overall. I reckon 60% chance of a deal breaker is 60% chance overall.

Hoping to see you all in Norway.

Charlie

Thanks for posting this.

I hadnt realised what a benefit the old ferry (which unfortunately I never got a chance to use) until I had a trip involving 2 flights a taxi, a ferry, another taxi to get to my destination, carrying all our kayak gear, camping kit AND food.

If the new ferry gets off the ground I will definitely be going back with the van full of toys for a longer trip. :-)

Done. We're kayaking around Lofoten area next year. A ferry would make life much simpler.

I've registered interest, I'm keen to get back to Norway with my own kit!

I know we've heard it all before but I've picked up another rumour that they will reinstate the ferry sometime in 2016.
Anyone heard anything to confirm / contradict?

According to this website no news is good news.

British Scandinavian website also appears to be broken as well.

We've had our hopes dashed so many times for a ferry service. Unless the government do provide incentives.. it wont happen. Apparently there's just not enough money in it anymore!!

Are they in Norway anticipating a Brexit and taking measures in advance? ;)
no offence,
