Sea Kayak Guide to the Isles of Bute and Surrounding Waters

Post by Roddy McDowell »

A big thanks to Simon Willis for editing and hosting on his site my Sea Kayak Guide to the Isle of Bute and surrounding waters. The guide is aimed at those who are making the transition from being day paddlers to overnight journeying in their kayaks. It is free and is my thanks to the wonderful Isles of the Clyde and the world class sea kayaking they offer. You can access it here http://simon-willis.blogspot.co.uk/2015 ... -bute.html

Apologies for replying to a 6 year old post but... does anyone know if the pdf for this is still available anywhere? I remember looking at it at the time and thinking I fancy going there some time but the guide seems to have vanished now :(

It's linked from the Sea Trips page of the Almanac - and here's the direct link to Simon's blog: https://simon-willis.blogspot.com/2015/ ... -bute.html

Can't get the links to work?

Kindle store doesn't seem to have it any more, sadly

Mike, it was linked from the old Sea Trips page but when I converted it the link was dead and I couldn't find the source anywhere, so I couldn't include it on the new page.

mintokames, if you know Roddy and he's happy to make the file available, it can be hosted in the Almanac pages - if you PM me I'll give you my email to send it to.

With thanks to Roddy McDowell for making his guide available again, and mintokames for facilitating its transfer, it's now hosted here on UKRGB

Thanks for this - it's a pretty useful guide so it would be a shame for it to get lost. After studying the forecast we actually ended up going to Devon (!) but hope to get to The Clyde before too long.
